What a split is for
People search split PDF Android when a file has more pages than they are allowed to send. A 40-page packet when the other person asked for the signature page. A bank statement when only one month matters. Splitting means keeping the pages you need and leaving the rest behind.
ViaPDF does that on your phone. You either tap the pages or type a range. The pages you keep are saved as one new PDF. The original file is not modified.
Tap pages or type a range
- Tap pages. Tap thumbnails. Useful when you can see the page you want and the numbering in your head is unreliable.
- Type a range. Enter 1-3, 5, 8-10 in the Page range field. Useful when you already know the page numbers.
There is no mode switch. The field and the thumbnails stay in sync on one screen: type a range and the pages are selected, tap a page and the field updates. Either way the selection exports as one PDF. ViaPDF does not burst a document into a separate file for every page. If you need two different excerpts, run Split twice. If you need those excerpts put back together with something else, merge the results. Split.pdf is written as page images, so its text is not selectable; run OCR and tap Save searchable PDF if you need that.

How to split a PDF in ViaPDF
- Open SplitOn the Tools tab, tap Split, then choose the PDF. Or tap Open PDF first and then pick Split.
- Pick the pagesThe Page range field and the page thumbnails are on one screen and stay in sync. Type a range such as 1-3, 5, 8-10, or tap pages. Each one updates the other.
- Adjust the selectionTap Select all to start from the full file and then turn pages off, or Clear to start from nothing. The button shows how many pages are selected.
- Extract the pagesTap Extract N pages. ViaPDF writes the selected pages into one new PDF, Split.pdf. It does not overwrite the original.
- Save or ShareTap Save or Share. The first export is free. After a Save, Keep going with this file can take Split.pdf into another tool, such as Compress.
